Tired and scared

Fatigue makes cowards of us all. When you’re tired, you feel beat down and vulnerable. You’re uncomfortable and want to quit. Don’t.

What you need to do is practice being uncomfortable. Push through for just a little longer, and when you think you can’t go any further, keep holding on. Practice doing this with small things first (like running just 30 seconds longer, or holding out another 10 minutes before you go back for more food). That way, if you do end up failing, you can recover from it.

In every failure, there is something to be gained. You learn about the situation and you learn about yourself. Now apply what you’ve learned to improve on your efforts for the next time you encounter a similar situation.

Thinking big and the 10X rule

Think big to grow big. Most of us are setting too small of goals (or not setting goals at all). You need to dream big if you want to go somewhere. Take, for example, the idea of adding a second job for extra cash. Sure, you can make some extra money on the weekend driving for Lyft or Uber, but how much is that really moving the needle to get you to your goal? Can you do something that is much more impactful but takes less of your time? I am already stretched for time. Instead of trying to get an extra 50 cent/hour raise (an extra $1,000 per year), can you think of ways to double your income? Think big. Whatever you think a “reasonable” goal is, multiply that by 10.

Most people overestimate what they can do in a year, but underestimate what they can do in a decade.

Start with the end in mind. Then reverse engineer how you can get there within the next 10 years, including benchmarks for the next 3 years, 1 year, 4 quarters, and the next week.

Baby Steps

If you’re having trouble with money, I highly encourage you to look into Dave Ramsey’s “baby steps.”

If you’re living paycheck to paycheck, barely making ends meet, and just hoping that unexpected bills don’t come up because you can’t afford them, this program is for you.

If you have any credit card debt, this program is for you.

If you want a better financial future and want to start building your wealth, this program is for you.

Check out the below link and don’t procrastinate. This is important. Read this, make a plan, and put it into action. It will be hard to follow at first, but it will only get easier with time.

Focus your attention

Focus your attention on the effort you give, not the result that comes of it.

Don’t focus on other people’s successes. Focus on achieving your own goals and making yourself successful. This isn’t only monetarily speaking…what are you doing today to build yourself into being a better spouse, a better parent, a better friend, or a better employee/employer? Don’t be stagnant. Don’t be envious. Work on yourself.
