New beginnings

This is the first of what will hopefully be many posts regarding my daily thoughts. I have always been interested in becoming the best version of myself, but didn’t really have a clear idea of what that meant, especially when I was younger. I still do not have a clear picture of what it is that I need to do, but the goal of these posts is to think out loud, share what’s on my mind, and hopefully figure out this thing that we call life, together.

Over the past several years, I have had an intense desire to better myself in every way possible. I don’t know if it had to do with me being in a serious relationship for the first time (Allison and I have now been married for a little over two years), my dad getting sick, recovering, and then passing away, or just realizing that I wanted to know what the real meaning of life is (I’ll let you know if I ever figure that one out). So, after years in the making of improving my mind (reading the Bible, philosophy, business, finance, history, biographies, and the occasional non-fiction or science fiction books), I’ve decided to share my musings with the world.

My intent here is not to show that I have it all together. In fact, I’m sure you’ll see quite the opposite if you read this blog for a while. Instead, what I’m hoping is that I can put these thoughts out there and we can collaborate, refine, and republish our new collective thoughts. I am open to changing my mind, or having it changed for me, as long as I can see the merit in the other sides’ point of view.

Some things that I post on here may be controversial. I know that you will not agree with everything that I have to say. But I hope that you realize that anything that I post is not meant to be malicious in any way. What I am posting is supposed to be mostly thought-provoking, occasionally humorous, and sometimes it will just be me venting my frustrations.

Anyways, I hope that you journey with me on this path to living our best life. Please feel free to comment on any of the blog posts, but remember, we want to build the world up, not tear it down. So please keep your comments respectful, even if you are disagreeing with my own or someone else’s opinion(s).

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful day.
