The fear of losing is holding you back

People fear losing so much that they end up losing. Everyone wants to be rich, but they are so afraid of possibly losing money, that they don’t invest. They lose out on reaching their potential because they play it too safe. It’s like the saying goes, everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die. But if you don’t die, you can’t go to heaven. You are going to have ups and downs in life, you’re going to have failures and setbacks. But if you avoid risk altogether, you’re also avoid reaping the best rewards and guaranteeing that you won’t reach your full potential.

No risk = no reward.

A few thoughts on parenting interactions with kids

Show them unconditional love. Tell them that you are always proud of them. They shouldn’t need to get good grades to earn your love.

Let them be curious. If they’re into something, make that thing seem important to you too. If they ask questions, no matter how silly they are or how many there are, encourage them to ask more. At the very least, don’t get annoyed when answering them.

Teach them that it’s ok when things don’t go their way.

Teach them that honesty is key, but if they can convey their honest opinion in a nice/respectful way, always opt to do it in that manner.

Be supportive, but not overbearing. Let them fail, but step in before it’s catastrophic.

Moralizing actions

Don’t “moralize” your actions. Just because you do something a certain way doesn’t make it good. Just like if somebody else does something a different way, it doesn’t make that bad. There are the intended ways of use for certain items or products. But sometimes doing things not according to the intended use leads to new ways of thinking, new products, etc. Don’t put your actions on a pedestal.

On loving exercise

Once you get into it, there’s not many things better than exhausting yourself in some healthy competition with good company.

Think about it…you get to challenge yourself mentally and physically, you get to feel like you accomplished something difficult (because you did), and you get to feel companionship.

The endorphins that are released help you feel better throughout the day AND if you start your morning with exercise, it can help you build the momentum you need to make the lifestyle choices you desire.

Stop making excuses

Stop making excuses. Nobody cares. You might not be at 100% for what you are truly capable of, but the only thing that you can do is give your 100% for that day. Nobody wants to hear your excuses. When you continually have a reason for why you are not at your peak performance, your accomplishment becomes less impressive.
