Moralizing actions

Don’t “moralize” your actions. Just because you do something a certain way doesn’t make it good. Just like if somebody else does something a different way, it doesn’t make that bad. There are the intended ways of use for certain items or products. But sometimes doing things not according to the intended use leads to new ways of thinking, new products, etc. Don’t put your actions on a pedestal.

Pause before acting (when you’re afraid)

Whenever you are afraid, try to take a step back before making a decision. Before you decide to act or not act, try to remove yourself from the situation. If a friend came to you with a problem asking for your advice, what would you tell them?

Do not make your decision based on the fears that you have. Make your decision based on what you feel is right. What would you be proud of either doing or saying in that moment.

Would you be embarrassed to tell your parents, siblings, friends, significant other, or children about how you acted or reacted in that moment. If you are embarrassed of it, why? Is it because you did not act with courage? Is it because you acted in a way that didn’t align with your values?

Never act or react solely out of fear.

It’s your choice

What you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become.
“Day by day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become.” – Heraclitus

What you think about and what you do on a daily basis is who you become.

Are you thinking positive thoughts or negative ones?

Are you surrounded by optimistic people who lift others up or people who gossip and only talk about what’s wrong in their life?

Do you walk around with a smile on your face or do you mope around like Eeyore?

You get to choose who you become by controlling your thoughts, words, and actions. You can’t change what you’ve done in the past, but you can make a decision to do better today and, more specifically, start with your next action. Live intentionally and you’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish/who you can become.

Changing the words you use

Change your mindset and change the words you use.

Instead of saying…

“I can’t.”

“I’m not sure.”

“I think I can.”

Use…

“I’ll make it happen.”

“I will.”

“I’ll get it done.”

Change your mindset. Change the words you use for yourself and for others. Set your intentions. Focus on the right actions. Then go out and make it happen.
