Don’t procrastinate. If it needs to be done eventually, it should be done immediately.

“If something needs to be done eventually, it needs to be done immediately.” – Jeremy Foley

Why wait? Why prolong the inevitable? If you know that something will need to be done at some point in the future, rip off the band-aid. Do it now and get it over with.

Stop procrastinating. Get started today

Instead of waiting, planning, preparing…just get started today. It’s easy hide procrastination by calling it planning, but you’ll come much closer to achieving your dreams if you just do it.

Get started today, not tomorrow. Then learn from what you did and make a change. Did your new action make the result better or worse? Did you take the right action and just get unlucky? Or did you take the wrong action and get lucky? Don’t necessarily attribute your specific action to the success or failure that day. Look at the trends. Are you consistently seeing positive results or negative?

No matter what, at least you are earning experience which you can learn from, good or bad. Use that to your advantage to propel you towards your goals for tomorrow and beyond.

When will you actually pull the trigger?

You’ve been talking about how you want to do this or how you’d like to do that…but how long have you been saying this?

Stop procrastinating. If you want to do something, make it happen. Just do it.

It all starts with taking action. Sure, you need to plan and prepare. But you can only do that for so long. Eventually, you’re just lying to yourself that you need more time, more money, more…something…

When are you actually going to pull the trigger and do what you want to do? Do you want to get healthier? Start today. Do you want to go on vacation? Book it today.

What if you wait ten years to do something, only to find out you absolutely love it? Wouldn’t you want more time to experience that thing? Start now and live without regret. Because even if the experience isn’t everything you dreamed it would be, at least you would know if you like it or not. You would have clarity on what is, and not worry about “what if.” Stop waiting and just do it.

Action and inaction

Stop reading (and watching/listening) so much and go think on your own. You need silence for creativity and for clarity. Ironically, you shouldn’t fill up every moment with doing something in order to be the most productive.

By the same token, stop reading and start doing. You can always accumulate more knowledge. Don’t use learning more about a subject as an excuse to procrastinate doing whatever it is you’re learning about. If you wait until you know everything to get started then you’ll never actually get started. Start doing it and continue to learn along the way.
