What you can’t do if you fail

Never fail due to a lack of effort. Go down swinging. If you’re not skilled enough to do something or if you’re not smart enough to grasp it, that’s a capacity issue that can be addressed. With the right coaching, determination, and attitude, you can improve on those things. But effort requires no skill, no intelligence. You either give it your all or you don’t. And if you’re not trying, you deserve to lose.

On trying new things…

If there is something that you heard about, but don’t know what it is, look it up.

If there is a vegetable that you’ve seen but never tried, buy it and look up a recipe on how to cook it.

If a friend asks you to go to some new place/event and you’ve never experienced anything like it before, go for it.

Do not be afraid of trying new things. Most of the time, the economic cost is minimal. But to live a life to the fullest by experiencing as much of what it has to offer as possible? That’s invaluable.

Asking for help

Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you really need it. If you’ve exhausted your resources and have given an honest effort to solve the problem on your own, it’s not only OK to ask a question, but it’s smart to ask for guidance from someone who may be able to help you find the answer you’re looking for. The key word here is guidance though…They should be guiding you, but you still need to put in the legwork to make it happen. You should be actively helping to make it happen and not passively watching someone else do the work for you.
