Why I write

People have asked me why I write this blog or what my end goal is for this website. Here is my response…

When it comes down to it, I write for three reasons.

First, I write because I need an outlet for my thoughts. Instead of only consuming information, I believe that we should practice producing and articulating our own thoughts. It is a way to activate another part of my brain.

Second, I write because I believe that who we are is determined by what we do and that what we do is determined by our thoughts. What better way to understand what you’re truly thinking than by writing it down daily?

And third, I write because I believe in the power of the ripple effect. If I produce content and it positively affects even one person’s mindset, I will be happy. But if that person then positively affects someone else’s life and it becomes a chain reaction (like ripples on a pond), then I will have accomplished more than I could have hoped for. And in the end, if it doesn’t reach as many people as I’d like, that’s ok. Because I know that this is at least scratching the itch of one person (me) and that is enough to provide me satisfaction.
